I should probably be posting something with apples, pumpkin, spices or ya know…something fall-ish. Because that’s what everyone is doing. So spare me and forgive me. Because today I’m going to post a double chocolate cookie that can be made any day of the year.
Read MoreToday's post is about giving ourselves a break and making life a little easier. And it involves chocolate, which is always a plus.

Here are rich truffles with a hint of mint. If you like Thin Mint Girl Scoot Cookies, you'll love the flavor of these! Or, if you don't prefer mint, leave it out! You'll have rich dark chocolate truffles that are so delicious.
Read MoreDo you like Oreos? As a kid (who am I kidding, and still today), I was always a "filling" person. I prefer the double or "mega" stuffed Oreos (yes, mega stuffed is a thing) so that the icing to chocolate cookie ratio is probably 3-1. No thin Oreos for me.
Read MoreMy husband Chad and I fell in love over food.
We went to high school together and through that teenage crush (err, friendship) time. But, connecting again later on was on totally different level.
He was in Brooklyn, me in the Midwest. With lots of text messaging what was for dinner, countless handwritten letters and shipments of cookies. In his New York apartment we handmade noodles, roasted a turkey for Thanksgiving at my sisters and baked granola on winter mornings.
Read MoreSo, I have this problem.
It involves the ice cream attachment for my Kitchen Aid mixer that I just don't put to use enough. You see, you have to freeze the ice cream maker before you use it. And well, I have a patience problem and by the time I decide to make ice cream, I am not willing to wait overnight to freeze the ice cream maker attachment.
Long story short, I'll resort to no-churn. But hey, it's okay! The perfect and beautiful thing about recipes like the one is that you can either make it in your ice cream maker OR freeze it without putting it through the ice cream maker. Brilliant, right?! I think so.
Read MoreWhat is it about a classic dish? That no-frills, no surprises, genuineness about it. A humbleness of sorts. That comfort knowing exactly what to expect. And then, that satisfaction when it actually tastes even better than what you expected.
I'm all about the classic pie. I mean, why mess it up? You spend the time to make the crust, roll it out delicately, get a TON of berries... and you wait and wait for it to bake. And wait and wait for it to cool enough.
Read MoreThis weekend is about remembering the fallen who have served our country... and is filled with flags, cookouts, pool days and the unofficial kick off to the summer months. And it's the perfect time to make an in-season pie!
This is my mom's recipe and another family favorite. It's uses a traditional pie crust that I love to use on all of my fruit pies. It makes enough dough for a two-crust 10-inch pie, so it's enough to make a pretty lattice top.
Read MoreNeed a fudgy, easy brownie recipe? Well, here you go!
There is something utterly comforting about brownies. The crackly tops and imperfectly cut squares give a hit of nostalgia. Always reminding me of the brownies my mom would make for us kids often - covered in a dusting of powdered sugar and so soft and good you could't just eat one.
These brownie are loaded with dark chocolate, and are pretty darn fudgy thanks to their flourless character. No flour = more room for chocolate.
Read MoreToday is one of those recipes I just have to share. It's a short and sweet post, literally. Because I mean, molten. chocolate. cake... do you need to say much more!?
My mom made these molten cakes last weekend. It makes 4 servings and is surprisingly easy to whip up.
Read MoreThis season is all about edible gifts and baking. At least that's what it feels like to me! And this year is no exception... I feel like I have packaged up more truffles, cookies & treats than ever before! And I'm showing no signs of slowing down until the 25th... after which time my blog will go back to it's usual naturally sweetened, health-packed treats.
But, until then... bring on all the truffles. Like these chocolate hazelnut ones. I first made these for my husband, and then again for a holiday party. And I'll likely make them again for Christmas weekend at home.

I'm obsessed with banana ice cream.
It's just so darn easy and so darn refreshing after a meal.
After stepping away from dairy a few years back, banana ice cream has made the transition smooth and delicious. I honestly crave this instead of the dairy and sugar-laden ice cream, I kid you not.
