Whipped Cinnamon Coffee {dairy-free, sugar-free}
Time to switch up your coffee game!
I'm a big member of the black coffee crowd. I fully admit that I've never ordered a Pumpkin Spice Latte and I actually don't put a thing in my daily cup of joe. I would preach from my own rooftop that "If you buy great coffee beans... you will have great black coffee. So people, stop buying bad, generic coffee!" (I recommend snagging a bag from a local coffee shop.)
But lately, I've been on a kick of adding a bit of coconut oil to my daily cup. It creates a hint of sweetness, some added energy and I swear it makes my skin smoother. This weekend, when life is a bit more slow and I spend more time in the kitchen in the morning, I went one step further and blended the coconut oil into the coffee. The result is a magical, frothy cup - no dairy or sugar needed!
So, black coffee drinkers - treat yourself to a frothy drink that is still pretty much black coffee.
And latte drinkers - skip the added sugar and milk, but still get that creamy taste you crave!
Whipped Coffee
1 mug of freshly brewed black coffee (1 cup or so)
1/2 - 1 teaspoon organic cold pressed coconut oil
1/4 tsp cinnamon
Directions:
In a blender or magic bullet, blend the coffee, coconut oil and cinnamon for about 15-30 seconds, until the mixture is frothy. It will turn creamy, and a caramel color.
Pour into a coffee mug and enjoy.
Another reason to pour that daily cup in 2016 - coffee spikes your metabolism! Plus, drinking that morning joe can make your workout extra effective, torching more calories in the hours after you work out.
So get sipping and moving!
