weekend cereal

Who doesn’t love cereal?  I’m an addict. 

But a picky one…

  

My favorite cereal when I was a kid: Wheat Chex with milk and sugar.  Or I just ate frosted mini wheats dry.  I know, I know… I was strange and still am.

Funny thing is, I don’t really eat cereal for breakfast.  But I make it just about every other time of the day.  If you are a runner, this is a great post-run or post-workout fill-up. 

Now, I can’t eat just plain cereal.  I have to load it up with up different fruits.  Cereal is so fast and simple, so you might as well jazz it up and make it look really pretty.  :)  

I also add ground flax seed, cinnamon, honey, and either skim milk or almond milk.

   

Cereal with Fresh Strawberries and Bananas

  • Nature’s Path Organic Corn Flakes (I also use any of the Rice Chex cereals)
  • Whole-Ground Flax Seed Meal (sprinkle on top)
  • fresh strawberries or blueberries  (I usually use frozen blueberries)
  • banana sliced
  • skim milk or almond milk 
  • drizzle of honey
  • Sprinkle of cinnamon

Directions: 

Make your big bowl of cereal and smile.

And yes… I did just write a recipe for cold cereal.
