FROZEN YOGURT – for life on the run.

Please raise you hand if you own an ice cream maker…

Now, don’t lie. Put that hand of yours down.

It’s okay… I don’t have one either.

I can’t count the number of times I’ve been super excited when I find a simple ice cream recipe… then right when I read the words “put in an ice cream maker…” and I immediately disregard the recipe in disappointment.

Maybe someday I’ll whip up wonderful ice cream concoctions in my wonderful ice cream maker.  Someday

Until then, who has the time or the space?

Not me.

Which is why I am sharing a simple frozen yogurt recipe with you.  It’s Greek yogurt… but frozen.

Just buy Greek or regular yogurt and mix or blend whatever you want into it.  Then pop it in the freezer and stir every 15 minutes or so until you reach the consistency that you want.

Then BOOM.  You have frozen yogurt.

Peach Frozen Yogurt

  • One cup nonfat greek yogurt (I used vanilla flavored)
  • I frozen banana, mashed
  • about 1 tsp. brown sugar
  • Drizzle of honey
  • Sprinkle cinnamon
  • 1 fresh peach, chopped

Directions:

- Blend yogurt and banana until as smooth as you would like

- Add brown sugar, honey and peaches and mix together. You can add vanilla extract if you use plain yogurt.

- Put it in the freezer for about 15 minutes. Stir it up. Put back in the freezer for another 10-15 minutes, stir.  Keep doing this process until you have the consistency you want for the frozen yogurt.

Variations:  Sometimes I add peanut butter or almond butter to the yogurt. Or you can add any type of nut.  I would also add any type of chocolate if I have any.

The possibilities are endless!
