Here is a pick-me-up smoothie.
To help you tackle the rest of the day.
I usually like to drink this on the weekends, when I get hungry after a long morning run. It is a healthy dose of protein to give you that much-needed boost.
Plus, it gives me an excuse to buy dates. There is just something about them. They feel like a splurge.
And, this is yet another Gwyneth Paltrow-inpired recipe. Lately I’ve been digging her recipe ideas.
She recommends this in the afternoon, when you need a kick. I could not agree more.
This one is very refreshing and delish.
afternoon energy shake {date & almonds}
- ½ banana (frozen is best)
- 1 tablespoon almond butter (or about 12-24 almonds, ground until a paste)
- 1 large date, pitted (or 2-3 smaller dates)
- ¾ cup cold unsweetened almond milk
- dash of tumeric or cinnamon (optional)
Directions:
- Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
- Pour into a glass and enjoy right away.
Ahhhh see. Don’t you feel better already?!
