My Experience With Daily Harvest | the plant-based meal delivery service

I first had Daily Harvest when it was gifted to me after I had Parker, our second baby. She is almost 5 years old, so I feel like I have been a fan for almost 5 years now. I order it on and off and thought it was time to write a blog post about it! Especially since Daily Harvest gave me a special promo code “URBANAPRON” this month for my followers to enjoy up to $75 off their first order!!!

I wanted to dive into what this brand is about, share my experience with Daily Harvest and why I love this plant-based meal delivery service. And share my favorite items and some tips on ordering!

What is Daily Harvest?

Daily harvest is a plant-based and gluten-free meal delivery service. It’s mission is to get your fruits + veggies “without shopping, chopping or fuss.” I love that they are built on sustainably-sourced fruits + veggies, too. Their food is frozen at peak ripeness, so it locks in the flavor and nutrients.

I also love that their packaging is all compostable and recyclable!! That is something super important to me.

If you want to order Daily Harvest, you do the following three steps:

  1. You pick from over 120 items on the app or website - for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.

  2. You select a delivery date and they will ship the food directly to you.

  3. You store in the freezer until you’re ready to enjoy. And just take out and blend, heat or eat right from the freezer!

Why I love Daily Harvest

I love eating healthy and really always have. But, the problem I’ve faced in recent years, especially juggling young kids and work, is that I don’t always have the time. The mental load I would carry thinking about all the ingredients I would need to have in my pantry and fridge to make all the healthy meals and snacks for myself can sometimes be too much. And I just resort to chips and salsa or PBJ. I also used to LOVE making smoothies… but I never have all the ingredients to do it, so I just won’t.

With Daily Harvest, the smoothies are all ready to go and I just blend up with a liquid (usually a milk of choice or water) and I am good to go!

This is perfect for someone wanting healthy meals on the go and doesn’t have much time to meal prep and/or cook. I use Daily Harvest the most for smoothies and also for lunches during the weekday. Their Harvest Bowls you just pop in the microwave!

The meals are already all prepared and I just have to heat up. And unlike a lot of frozen food, these actually taste fresh and really good! Like, really good. I have always been so impressed with the flavors of the dishes. I have only encountered one dish I didn’t love (the broccoli and cheez harvest bowl), and other than that, I have loved them all!

My tips!

If you order Daily Harvest, I recommend getting the app. When you first order it, it’ll have you select the number of items you want. I usually do the 6-8 items or 9-11 items. The plans are SUPER flexible and you can add items or change plans any time and skip weeks.

In the app, it will automatically sign you up for future deliveries. I don’t need the items that quickly, I only order every month or so, so I just uncheck the boxes for the future weeks, and then I just order whenever I need something! If you ever forget to skip a delivery, it’ll send you an email before it ships out so you can easily go into the app and cancel the delivery. It’s super easy to adjust dates and skip future dates.

I would also use my promo code URBANAPRON to save the most because you will save up to $75 off your first order!!!
