Apple Cider Margaritas - My Favorite Fall Cocktail

A bit late getting this recipe up for fall, but better late than never, right?!

This Margarita is based off the cocktail recipe from The Pioneer Woman, and it has been one we have made on repeat this fall. I love Margaritas, and this isn’t too over-powering and just the right amount of spice for the fall feel. If you want a seasonal cocktail as we head into the last bit of the fall season, this is it!!!

Chad will make a pitcher of it and keep in the fridge if we have company over, and it’s perfect to make for a few people. It’s ready to go! You just pour over ice and then top with the club soda.

The sugar rim isn’t necessary BUT I find it really makes the drink. And makes it look special and fancy. I am all about the looks and the feeling a drink gives you, in addition to the taste. Presentation is key!

Also - are you new to making your own cocktail? My tip is to just try it out. I find with any cocktail, once you make it one time, you get better and faster and can easily make it again.

Apple Cider Margarita

Recipe from Pioneer Woman. Makes 1 serving.

Sugar Rim

  • 2 Tbsp. turbinado sugar

  • 1 tsp. apple pie spice

  • 2 Tbsp. pure maple syrup

Margarita

  • 2 oz. apple cider

  • 1 oz. tequila

  • 1/2 oz. orange juice

  • 1/2 oz. orange liqueur

  • Splash of club soda

  • 1 slice of apple for garnish

Directions:

  1. For the sugar rim: On a small plate or in a shallow dish, mix the turbinado sugar with the apple pie spice. Then, put the maple syrup in a separate shallow dish. Dip the rim of a glass in the maple syrup, then into the spiced sugar, turning to coat; set aside.

  1. Make the margarita: in a cocktail shaker or mason jar with a lid, add the apple cider, tequila, orange juice, and orange liqueur. Add ice, secure the lid, and shake until very cold.

  2. Fill the rimmed glass with ice and pour in the shaken cocktail. Top with a splash of club soda.

  3. Garnish the drink with an apple slice and enjoy!
