Fall Sangria
I recently had my Beautycounter team of brand advocates over for a happy hour in my backyard. It was the perfect weather as we are transitioning to fall in the Midwest. I wanted an easy fall cocktail that I could set out and make it easy to serve as we all chatted. A sangria with a fall twist seemed like a good decision!! I adapted a recipe from the blog, A Forked Spoon. I found it easy to prep and put together!
I really love this Sangria and will be making again this fall as we entertain.
This recipe you can easily double in size if you want to serve more people.
Easy Fall Sangria
2 apples, cored and thinly sliced
2 pears, cored and thinly sliced
1 orange, sliced and cut into quarters
2 bottles of white wine (pick a drier one such as Sauvignon Blanc)
1 cup of Pear Liqueur (the brand Drillaud Pear Liqueur you can find at Total Wine)
1 bottle of hard apple cider (12 ounces)
2-3 cinnamon sticks
tonic water (about 12 ounces. I add it to cut the sweetness from the apple cider, especially if the cider you use is more sweet!)
fresh rosemary sprigs (for garnish)
Instructions:
To a large pitcher/dispenser, add the apples, pears and oranges. Add the white wine, liquer and apple cider. Add cinnamon sticks. Stir.
Chill for at least an hour.
When ready to serve, top the sangria with the tonic water. I use a drink dispenser and just pour the tonic water into the dispenser, stir and serve. But, you can also pour the sangria into the glass and then top the glass with tonic water. Garnish with a rosemary sprig.
