My Favorite M&M Cookies
Whenever I think of M&M cookies I think of this recipe and I think of my brother, Tom, because this recipe is his favorite! I also love making these cookies in the springtime, because for some reason, I love them best with pastel M&M’s. They just make me happy.
We are headed to our hometown this weekend for a half marathon (first one for me in 7 years!!!), so I made a batch of these cookies to take home to my in-laws who will be watching our kids. Hope you enjoy as much as we do!
My Favorite M&M Cookies
2 sticks (1 cup) unsalted butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. water
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups M&M’s (I use one 10-ounce bag)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a mixer, cream together the butter and sugars. Add in the eggs and water and mix to combine. Then, cream in the vanilla extract.
Add in the baking soda, salt and flour and mix until fully combined and flour is mixed into the dough.
Add in the M&M’s and stir until just combined. I save some extra to top the dough balls with the M&M’s.
Scoop dough on cookie sheet and top each dough ball with a few M&M’s.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the cookies are slightly becoming golden brown on the edges.
