Monster Mash Candy Cookies

Halloween has come and gone, and boy was it fun. Halloween is my favorite holiday, so maybe I’m biased, but I just looove the month of October in general and I’m always sad when it’s over. Luckily November in St. Louis has been sooooo beautiful so that’s been helping with the transition!

Post-Halloween with children also likely means you have enough candy to fill your dining room table. AM I RIGHT?! Sooo much candy!

So…. let’s use some for cookies! This is a chewy chocolate chip cookie recipe with chopped up chocolate candy bars in place of the chocolate chips. A fun twist on a cookie and you’re able to use up some of the piles of candy you may have.

Monster Mash Candy Cookies

  • 2 sticks (1 cup) unsalted butter, softened

  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar

  • 3/4 cup white sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 2 3/4 cups all purpose flour

  • 2-3 cups chopped chocolate candy bars (I used a variety of mini Crunch bars, Twix, Herhseys, Milky Way, Three Musketeers, Kit Kats, etc)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

  2. In a mixer, blend the butter and sugars until creamed. Add in the eggs and cream together. Add the vanilla, salt, and baking soda and mix to combine. Slowly add in the flour until combined.

  3. Stir in the chopped candy pieces.

  4. Put tablespoon sized dough balls on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for about 10-11 minutes, or until edges are golden and the middle appears cooked through. Take out and let cool completely before removing to a wire rack. Store in air-tight container for up to a week, or freeze for up to 3 months.
