Chad's Moscow Mule

It was our 5 year anniversary last week and Chad made this Moscow Mule, which I like to call our signature drink! When we first started dating, Chad was working at the Standard Hotel in NYC and they had the best moscow mules with candied ginger that I used to always order. It became our drink of choice as he crafted cocktails in our apartment.

Our signature cocktail at our wedding was this moscow mule! Chad made this exact recipe and the ginger syrup for the drinks we served at the reception. It was so special! We make it every year on our anniversary.

This is a little spicy, refreshing and a fav of anyone who loves a really good moscow mule.

Moscow Mule

  • 2 ounces vodka

  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice

  • 1 ounce ginger syrup (recipe below)

  • 1 cup ice

  • ginger beer to top if off

  • piece of candied ginger and slice of lime, for topping (optional)

Directions:

  1. In a cocktail shaker, combine all of the ingredients except the ginger beer and shake.

  2. Pour into a copper mug and top with the ginger beer

  3. Garnish with candied ginger and a slice of lime.

Ginger Syrup

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 cup water

  • slice about 1-2 inches of fresh ginger root (peel on)

Directions:
