Chad's Rosemary Gin Fizz

I don’t talk about my husband, Chad, as much as I should on here. So today’s post is all about him. If he reads this he will probably roll his eyes. But, he and this drink deserve a post!

One of my favorite things about Chad is that he was a bartender for several years after college. First starting in New York City at the Standard Hotel. A swanky hotel in the Meatpacking District. When we first started dating, I would visit him in the evenings while he worked. Chad loves cooking and is so creative, so naturally he became great at creating and making cocktails. He also had a way with people. Maybe it was his heavy pour or extra glass “on the house”…but he really got to know his regulars. It’s no surprise we are still in touch with a few of them today!

In our early years of dating, our weekends would consist of farmers markets, cooking and cocktail making. Oh those were the days. When we would put on a record and Chad would whip up a new cocktail concoction.

Fast forward several years and our weekends look a bit different. But, when I hear Tallest Man on Earth playing in the kitchen and a simple syrup simmering on the stove. I am suddenly transported back in time to when we were first in love and Chad was always in the kitchen, in his element.

Recently, Chad has been making this Gin Fizz. He makes a Rosemary simple syrup and shakes it all up in his favorite cocktail shaker. Watching him make this reminds me that although life has changed with babies in the mix… there are still parts that are the same.

I hope you enjoy this drink as much as we have. Chad’s favorite is to share it with company, so hope you do the same!
