Banana Peach Matcha Smoothie
Smoothies. I crave them constantly. But, lately I’ve resorted to buying them on-the-go more often than not. I blame pregnancy and not wanting to be in the kitchen making them myself (I pretty much lived off a smoothie every morning of my first trimester). Now, with a little over 2 months to go, I am still relying on a refreshing smoothie.
Oh how convenient it is to buy a smoothie at your local joint, but oh how expensive it can get. That, and you cannot control what goes in it. Time to finally start making them myself again! It’s like a part of me has been missing these past several months and I miss it.
This smoothie is inspired by a Banana Matcha smoothie I get a few too many times on my way to work at my favorite Kaldi’s Coffeehouse in St. Louis. Sweet, refreshing, and you can add even more nutrients with a handful of spinach.
Enjoy!
Banana Peach Matcha Smoothie
(Makes 1 serving)
1 banana
1 cup frozen sliced peaches
1 cup coconut water (coconut milk could also work)
1 handful fresh spinach
1 Tbsp. chia seeds
1 tsp. ground matcha tea powder
Ice (optional)
Toppings: Chia seeds, coconut, sliced bananas, granola (all optional ideas)
Directions:
In a high speed blender, blend all of the ingredients until smooth. Pour into jar or bowl and top with optional toppings. Enjoy!
If you make this the night before, just put in a jar with a lid and shake well the next morning before enjoying.
