Turmeric & Ginger Tea

This past week I've been taking over @whole30recipes Instagram account, posting photos and recipes that my husband and I make all the time, especially during the Whole30 challenge.

Today I shared this anti-inflammatory iced tea, because it's hot out and it's summer... And we could all use a bit more turmeric in our diet.

This tea is best served immediately, but if not, keep the tea in fridge until ready to serve. It packs a spicy punch, but you can dial it down by adding more water when you steep!

This morning I mixed up a batch of this tea and we went on a long bike ride in this blistering hot St. Louis weather.  We got home, and I poured myself a nice, cold glass of tea.

Try it out - it's super good for you, too. ;)

Turmeric & Ginger Iced Tea

  • Juice of 3 lemon

  • 1/2 Tbsp ground turmeric

  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger root, finely chopped/minced (ground ginger also works)

  • Pinch of sea salt

  • Hot water

  • Ice

Directions:

  1. In a quart size jar, mix the lemon juice, turmeric, ginger and salt.

  2. Fill the jar with hot water and steep 10-15 minutes. Store in refrigerator until ready to serve (shake up before serving)

  3. When ready to serve, fill a pitcher or glass with ice and pour tea over it.

Stay cool out there!!
